This is a fine and unusual silver cuff by Navajo master silversmith, Richard Tsosie.

Not the ubiquitous jewelry made for sale to tourists. This is the real deal; an old estate item that belonged to my sister-in-law. Over the years, she traveled throughout our Southwest and, though not a collector, acquired a few choice items for her own use, buying old pawn from trading posts and, sometimes, buying directly from the artisans.

Eleven inlays of five different stones. Mother-of-pearl, spiny oyster, coral , turquoise, and purple lapis lazuli as seen in detail at right   An inlay of sterling geometric design in the 'granulated" technique.   A large tear drop of black-matrixed turquoise, claw-bezel set in silver.
