Wheel thrown. 2-handled Art Deco vase, in weighty stoneware, by one of France's foremost stoneware masters.

Round, flattened onion form, with two angular handles forming arched negative space

Covered in a fine, understated glaze -- finely orange-peeled, greenish black, with hints of brown --

-- all over a light green hi-glaze, with a scattering of microcrystals.

Background: Charles Greber (1853-1935) was a very well known potter, working in Beauvais, France, primarily in stoneware, bridging the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods - circa 1899-1933.
