expressive vase with "blown out," rustic decor wrapping
around the smooth cylinder body. Shading from clear at the
base, to a deep brown amber at the top.

Background:
Kumela Glassworks was founded in Riihimäki in 1937.
1970's weakness in the Finnish glass industry forced its
sale to Humpilla Glassworks in 1976. Kumela ended operations
in bankruptcy in 1985. In the interim, however, they had
designed and produced some very innovative glass.
