BACKGROUND:
Kunstaardewerkfabriek
K. J. Mobach, Utrecht, The Netherlands, was founded in
1895. From 1900 until 1910 Mobach produced earthenware in
the -typical Dutch- sober, restrained variant of the Nieuwe
Kunst style, The factory's work enjoyed great renown from
this period and was even sold for several years by Liberty
& Co., London. Always hand thrown, the work became less
sober and more sumptuous approaching mid-century.
