Pewter Mug 4-3/4" high Mint! Classic tankard form with double scroll handle. Body banded at mid-belt and base. Finest, full weight, English cast pewter by Crown & Rose pewterer, London. This takes me
back to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas in the US Virgins,
where I bought it in the early 1960's. In a very tweedy
English shop called Stoner's. They had a little bar in the
back just for customers. Served something they called a
"Coral Virgin." I don't know what was in it, but it was
smooooth! You didn't realize just how smooth until you got
back out in the sun... |
