Signed Canadian Studio Art Glass Vase
by John Phillips
(b. UK, 1938)

Left and right side views.

11-3/8" tall x 7-1/8" diameter

A large, hand blown vase of sea foam and coral, encased in a layer of clear glass, giving the appearance of having been formed in a ribbed, half-post mold, and finally shaped by hand.
The lower two-thirds bears vertical ribbing, while the upper third is of rib-free surface. The pontil is ground.
A wonderfully pleasing melding of form and color. Found just this past week in Canada.

John Phillips trained in England and at he Pilchuck School in the U.S.
His work has been shown and sold throughout Canada, the U.S., England and Japan.
