Aluminia (founded 1863) was purchased by Royal Copenhagen in
1882. The Aluminia name was discontinued in 1969, with
production continued under the Royal Copenhagen
name.

Unusual
and attractive centerpiece bowl decorated in a stylized
motif of floral petals, in cobalt, red and yellow, the
design very much in the Delft tradition. Finished in
finely pitted salt glaze, the base remaining in a chamotte.


Ink-stamped
Aluminia "beehive" mark (used 1903-1969). Possibly by Berte
Jessen, circa mid-fifties.
