American Eagle Pitcher

7" high x 4-1/4" diameter
Classic
form pitcher with applied rope handle, covered in
an ivory white high glaze, and decorated, on front
and back, with an American Eagle &
Shield motif. the eagle's head facing toward
the peaceful olive branch, and away from the
warlike snatch of arrows. The mouth of the pitcher
bearing an Art Deco band of spade leaves, topped by
a rim of gold.
The
decor is hand painted over decal
outline.
A
most impressive and patriotic American statement,
from 'the mother country.' Circa
1918.

Under
glaze, ink-stamped mark on base.
