Chihuly in Tacoma
at Union Station

Tacoma's 1911 Union Station, a shining example of Beaux Arts architecture, now housing a Federal court house, and an impressive installation of glass by Tacoma's 'hometown boy', Dale Chihuly.

The east wall balcony houses a forest of red glass wands that proved too difficult to photograph.

The
Tacoma Museum of Glass as seen from Union Station.
The conical form at far left is the 'hot shop'. The two blue 'columns' are Chihuly pieces on the walk bridge to the Museum; between them and the 'hot shop' is the Chihuly 'wall'; to the far right of the Towers is the Chihuly 'covered walkway'.
Just down the street from Union Station is the
Tacoma Art Museum, with a major Chihuly installation and a significant permanent collection.
